Join us for an open-ended, mindful painting session set to relaxing music. Wear your painting clothes and come with all your creativity! We will start with a meditation exercise and then paint whatever subject you like. No materials required, but feel free to bring your own paints and/or reference photos if you like.Registration required.

Join us for a guided nature journaling event, where participants will learn to observe and record the natural world through drawing and writing. This hands-on program offers a relaxing way to connect with nature while sharpening observation skills. This program is suitable for all ages, but does require periods of sustained focus and quiet observation. All participants under the age of 16 must attend with a parent or guardian. Children are invited to read with certified pet therapy dogs from the Suncoast Humane Society Pet Therapy Team. This program encourages conversation and develops reading and communication skills. The dogs love the attention and the kids love the interactions.

Wilderness Medicine SchoolThis hands-on experience will allow participants to learn how to tackle wilderness challenges like insect stings and snake bites, boost their outdoor confidence in skills such as preparing for a hike, identifying animal tracks, and wildlife encounters. They'll also gain essential survival techniques, including splint setting, tourniquet application, hypothermia management, and versatile uses of a bandana for emergencies.For ages 5-12.

This workshop is a hands-on introduction to an easy method of mushroom cultivation. We'll spend the first hour inside covering the basics. We will take a snack and tea break and then we'll head outside to inoculate oak logs with pink oyster spawn. Concert pianists Catherine Lan and Tao Lin, creators of Duo Beaux Arts, have collectively performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, Kadriorg Palace in Estonia, Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, and more. This recital explores the elegant lyricism of 19th-century Vienna to the fiery streets of 20th-century Buenos Aires.You will experience Schubert's Impromptu D. 899, No. 2. Known for its "perpetuum mobile" character, this work features cascading eighth-note triplets that weave a tapestry of light and shadow, occasionally interrupted by a dramatic, rhythmically driving middle section. The journey continues with a selection of Chopin's Etudes. These pieces redefined the genre, transforming mere technical exercises into profound "tone poems" that demand both acrobatic virtuosity and deep sensitivity, and these studies remain the cornerstone of the romantic repertoire.Shifting to the Southern Hemisphere, we encounter Astor Piazzolla's "Spring" from the Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. This "Nuevo Tango" masterpiece captures the grit and passion of the city, opening with a rhythmic fugue that evokes the sudden, surging energy of spring in the urban bustle. Finally, we return to the grand ballroom with the Blue Danube Fantasy, a dazzling transcription of Strauss's waltz that serves as a virtuosic celebration of Viennese charm and orchestral color.Registration required.

Benjamin Dimmitt, conservation photographer will discuss his recent book on Florida's vanishing wetlands  An Unflinching Look: Elegy for Wetlands a deep, peer-reviewed examination of the impact of climate change on the wetlands at the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge on Florida's Gulf Coast, 70 miles north of Tampa.
